Electric conversion kit for classic moped with 17 inch rear wheel

With this conversion kit you can convert your old moped to electric.
This set consists of approved parts. This allows you to have your moped 100% legally registered at the Dutch road authorities (RDW).
 

This kit includes:

- 17" rear wheel with electric hub motor and drum brake
- Battery
- Electrics: wiring harness, controller, 12 volt converter, switches, horn, relay
- Battery charger
- Universal swingarm (to be adapted by yourself to fit your bike)

Why convert your old moped to electric?

• More and more cities are switching to environmental zones. The old moped is banned from the city center. In many cases, an exemption is possible for mopeds that meet the current requirements with regard to emissions. If you convert your moped to electric, you can apply for an exemption and you can enter the environmental zone again without any worries.
• It is a shame to get rid of an old moped and buy a completely new one instead. The old moped is often technically for higher quality than bikes which are produced nowadays. So reuse what is good and adapt it to today's standards by making it electric.
• No more refueling! Charge your battery at home or at work. So easy. And much cheaper.
• No more noise and emissions.
• Less maintenance: oil changes, valve sets and carburetor adjustments are a thing of the past.

RDW inspection

After the moped has been converted to electric, it must be inspected by the national road authorities (RDW in NL). In the Netherlands this takes place at the RDW Test Center in Lelystad. DC Bikes is happy to help with this. When the RDW has approved the moped, a new registration card is sent on which the fuel "E" (for electric) is stated, instead of "B" (for petrol). You can use this information to apply for an exemption to get access the environmental zones. The RDW costs of such a registration are approximately €350.
